Lunar eclipse on Sunday
Red moon in the Earth's shadow

Red moon during a total lunar eclipse in the night sky.
On Sunday, there will be a real astrological highlight with a lunar eclipse.

With little cloud cover, a total lunar eclipse can be observed again on Sunday evening. The moon will rise over the UK and Ireland at around 07:45 pm, already completely eclipsed.

The beginning of the eclipse will only be visible in Asia and parts of Eastern Europe, where the moon rises above the horizon much earlier. In Western Europe, on the other hand, it rises later and only the end of the eclipse can be seen.

Shortly after moonrise, the eclipse reaches its midpoint, and just 40 minutes later, the total phase ends. In the following hour, the moon slowly moves out of the Earth's umbra again.

The Weather & Radar app not only provides reliable weather forecasts, but also displays astronomical information such as moon phases and current sunrise and sunset times in a compact format.
