Very dense fog has blanketed Northern India, with multiple weather alerts in force as visibility is dramatically reduced.

The thick fog has primarily affected Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and isolated pockets of West Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to persist through much of this week.

In Delhi, visibility was reduced to around 20 metres, whilst in Bathinda, it was reported at zero. You can see the fog lying over the aforementioned areas on the WeatherRadar.

There have even been multiple reports of traffic incidents, with the fog producing dangerous driving conditions, with several weather alerts in force.

For December 19th and 20th, Punjab was placed on a red warning, meaning action is needed against the conditions. The winter fog here formed as a result of clear skies, light winds and moist air.
