Gusts exceeding 60 mph
Stormy times in the Mediterranean

Things are getting rough in the Mediterranean. Storm Deborah delivered gale-force winds of over 60 miles per hour, particularly along the French coast, across Menorca and as far as Sardinia.

There, waves are reaching heights of up to 6 metres.

The WindRadar forecast shows widespread stormy conditions.

Conditions became increasingly stormy in southern Italy and the Balkans as well on Thursday. In Croatia, a strong Bora wind is swept across the country. In addition, showers – some accompanied by thunder and lightning – passed through repeatedly.

On Friday, the wind will pick up noticeably in Greece and along the Turkish Aegean coast. In some areas, gusts will reach speeds of 50 mph or more. There will also be heavy showers and thunderstorms.

The weather will remain stormy over the weekend, particularly in the western Mediterranean.
