Gales on the way
Stormy outlook for Thursday

Wind map dated 18:00 on 27.11 showing orange-red bands of stronger winds over the UK with labelled speeds from 25 to 40 mph and dense streamlines from the west.A lively night awaits on Thursday with gale-force winds in parts of the UK and Ireland.

Conditions take a turn on Thursday, with strong gusting winds across the UK and Ireland prompting warnings.

As low pressure moves by in the Atlantic, gusts reach gale force in parts of Scotland, and could turn widely disruptive across the north of the UK and Ireland.

These will be strongest in the Western Scotland, where gusts are expected to reach up to 65 miles per hour (105 km/h) overnight into Friday.

For Ireland, it will be most felt in the west, also seeing gusts of 65 miles per hour (105 km/h) in Belmullet.

Keep an eye on the WindRadar over the coming days for the latest outlook.
