Friday afternoon sees heat widely reach the mid- to high-20s on the TemperatureRadar

Highs approaching 30°C are expected on Friday in England, although other areas will see the arrival of fresh rainfall to ease the heat.

London and the surrounding area look set to come close to 30°C on Friday afternoon, with much of the UK set to enjoy temperatures in the mid- to high-20s.

Meanwhile, rainfall pushing in from the west will relieve some of this heat in Ireland and Scotland into the evening before continuing on to form showers in the across the UK to start the weekend.

Rain will continue to fall throughout Friday evening in Ireland, persisting to begin Saturday too.

Temperatures already begin to ease by the weekend thanks to the rainfall, with eastern to southeast England retaining the warmest spells, 26°C is expected in Norwich for Saturday's high.
