Sunny spells and showers
Remaining changeable for the week

Weather map for Wednesday 30.09 showing low pressure west of Ireland and a broad rain band sweeping across the UK, with showers over eastern Britain.
The large low-pressure system influences showers on Wednesday.

Stormy conditions of Tuesday ease but conditions remain relatively changeable with plenty of bright spells for the rest of the week.

Wednesday sees a cold front moving north-eastwards through the morning. This brings showers across the UK, having passed through Ireland in the early morning.

As this clears, clearer conditions with sunny spells and scattered showers will remain for the afternoon. Temperatures remain fairly warm in the east and south-east of England after passing 27°C on Tuesday in Surrey. Around average elsewhere with winds still a factor in the west.

The days remain changeable overall, with Thursday enjoying plenty of sunshine with scattered clouds and only small isolated showers around. Still gusty around the far west of Ireland but otherwise calmer.

Winds then pick up in England and Wales on Friday in parts, up to 35 mph in northern Wales. These joined by heavier showers for Scotland, Wales, northern England, and southern Ireland.

Temperatures fall a little with highs around 20°C by the end of the week in the south-east of England. The nights also feel cooler, dropping to single digit lows along eastern coasts of the UK.
