Disruption likely
Sodden Thursday outlook in the south

Daytime weather radar map at 14:00 on 15 January showing widespread blue rain bands across England and Wales, with heavier rain over the Midlands and southeast, city temperature labels, and a rain cloud icon near Birmingham.A miserable Thursday outlook as rain settles in on the WeatherRadar.

Parts of England and Wales can expect a sodden Thursday as heavy rain steadily moves through.

The deluge has prompted both weather and flood warnings, stretching from southern England to the north-west, though East Anglia is spared.

Rainfall totals of up to 30 mm are expected widely within the area caught under the persistent downpour, while some areas of southern England could see up to 50 mm, though only locally.

This is likely to produce surface flooding, impacting afternoon travel for commuters.
