Breakfast brief
Chilly with blustery showers for some

A much colder start to the day than recently, though with sunshine developing and blustery showers blowing in.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

Feeling much colder to start Wednesday with temperatures in the single digits widely across the UK and Ireland. Sub-zero temperatures are locally possible across sheltered glens of the Scottish Highlands.

Despite sunshine prevailing through most through the day, it will still feel significantly chillier.

Blustery north-westerly winds will also continue to blow showers in, occasionally stretching in further inland at times, especially through the Cheshire Gap. Another clear, cold night to come.
