The Northern Lights were vibrant over the UK and Ireland over the weekend, here's a collection of images sent in by our users!

The aurora borealis was visible over the weekend thanks to a series of strong geomagnetic storms which began on May 8th.

Activity has now dropped back to lower levels, meaning the atmospheric phenomenon is no longer likely to appear overhead until the next strong solar storms arrive.

Remember to show off your shots if you capture the spectacular sight via our uploader!
