Weather outlook

It's a wet start to the week, with a band of heavy rain spreading across the UK and Ireland. First reaching Ireland later this morning before crossing the Irish Sea into the afternoon.

Gusting winds will also grow in strength, with the strongest impacting the coastal areas either side of the Irish Sea, with gusts of up to 50 mph expected in Bangor this evening.

Temperatures are warmest in eastern England, with highs of 24°C in Cambridge. Slightly cooler for Ireland, where highs only reach the upper-teens.
