Breakfast brief
Frosty start with a snowy end

A chillier start than we have seen in recent days, but Thursday looks to be mostly dry until fresh rain arrives this evening.

Kickstarting your day

Welcome to the Breakfast Brief, your first forecast for the day and a chance to catch up on what you may have missed.

Weather outlook

A frost start this morning for eastern areas of Ireland and much of the UK as temperatures fell close to, and beyond, 0°C overnight.

Despite this, the skies will be mainly cloud free throughout the day.

This changes in the evening as a fresh band of rainfall arrives from the Atlantic into western Ireland and Scotland, turning to snow as it travels through the UK into the early morning.
