Autumn foliage hot spots

We recently shared an article displaying the best autumn hot spots across the UK and Ireland, but what about around the world?

Here's the link to the article where we shared our top picks in the UK and Ireland, and below are our global golds:

  • White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire, USA
  • Loire Valley, France
  • Bishops Creek Canyon, California, USA
  • Nara, Japan
  • Spreewald, Germany
  • Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, Italy
  • Agawa Canyon, Ontario, Canada
  • Dandenong Ranges, Australia

Both Spreewald in Germany, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park are both UNESCO biosphere reserves, areas nominated by national governments where locals work together with nature and biodiversity for sustainable use.

This image above was taken on October 8th 2022 by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites, showcasing the beautiful, warm foliage colours in the Italian national park, home to 70% of all biodiversity species.

Have you ever been to any of these spots? Or visited anywhere spectacular that you think should be on this list? Send us in your photos here.
