Conditions slowly improve - Gusty, grey start before spring returns

It's a week of two halves, needing parts of your autumnal and spring wardrobe at the ready, gradually improving by Friday.

Tuesday starts grey, with showers passing eastwards through Wales into the UK and Scotland in the morning. By the afternoon, clouds largely part for a sunnier and warm end to the day.

In Ireland, Tuesday will more noticeably become breezy with fresh easterly winds. It will stay mostly dry with sunny spells and highs up to the mid-teens.

From midweek, a largely settled pattern takes hold. Across the UK, it will be dry with a mix of sunshine and cloud, although it may stay cloudier in the east at times due to an onshore breeze.

Gusting winds which arrived Tuesday remain a factor but begin to ease.

Ireland will remain mostly dry through Wednesday with sunny spells, though the southwest may still see more cloud and a few light showers.

By Thursday, conditions improve further with plenty of sunshine and lighter winds across the UK and Ireland. Temperatures will climb up to just around 20 °C by Friday, though still cooler across Scotland.
