Slow moving rain brings flooding

The large band of rain stretches from the north of Wales to eastern England.

Flood alerts spread today as heavy rain continues, with one flood warning issued Thursday morning too.

A slow moving band of rain, also producing thunderstorms, resulted in flooding overnight in parts of the West Midlands. This continues pushing north through Thursday and is likely to produce further flash floods.

One flood warning, indicating flooding is expected, has been issued for Bromsgrove, Worcestershire with water levels rising in the Spadesbourne Brook.

Privacy Policy

An additional 30 flood alerts, indicating flooding is possible, are active predominantly running from the Midlands to West Yorkshire with a cluster around London.

A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms expires at 10:00 pm, though a fresh warning across the east coast of England runs until Friday morning, with conditions remaining unsettled over the bank holiday weekend.
