26.5°C in Surrey
New UK temperature date record

A new high for the year, and date.

A new date temperature record has been set after a high of 26.5°C was recorded in Chertsey, Surrey.

This beats the previous date record for April 30th, which has stood since 1952 with a high of 26.1°C recorded in Camden Square, London. It is also another high for 2025 recorded on the day.

Temperatures are set to peak on Thursday, with a rise to around 28-29°C in south-east England. For Ireland, a current high of 24.5°C looks set to be the best for a little while as the head already begins to fade.
