Sunscreen season
UV levels on the rise this week

Temperature radar showing highs of up to 17°C across England, Wales, and Ireland. Highs of up to 17°C also bring stronger UV levels.

As temperatures rise in the coming days, the UV Index is reaching moderate levels for the first time this year.

A UV Index level of three or higher is classed as moderate and means you should use sunscreen for protection. Large parts of England, Wales, and Ireland will see this level met this week.

Towards the end of the week, southern Scotland also sees a rise in the UV levels, but heavier rain arrives from the Atlantic to douse Ireland ahead of a widely wet Saturday.
