Weather trend
Changeable, some heavy showers at times

The first week of June continues with the unsettled theme, as Atlantic low pressure systems remain influential.

After a fairly cool, breezy and showery Sunday, the new work week will start off on a dry note across most of the UK with bright or sunny spells on Monday.

Temperatures are expected to be just below average for the time of year, with the southeast of England seeing the warmest conditions.

A new weather front associated with a low pressure system out in the Atlantic will then push into Ireland in the evening, setting the stage for a windy and very unsettled Tuesday.

Spells of rain or showers may turn heavy at times, while winds are likely to gust to around 40-50 mph (60-80 km/h) across parts of Ireland, Scotland and northern England.

Winds should ease again by mid-week next week, though things are likely to remain changeable overall as low pressure activity remains fairly close to the UK and Ireland.

However, high pressure across the near continent may eventually bring some drier and more settled conditions to the far south and southeast of England by next weekend at least.

Details remain uncertain, however, so be sure to regularly check the conditions to stay ahead of any changes in your local area.
