Thursday rain
Incoming downpour prompts warnings

Wednesday sees a band of heavy rain moving east on the WeatherRadar.

Wednesday sees a band of rain moving across the country, just a taste of the torrential downpours expected Thursday.

While a brolly will be needed Wednesday morning, it is in the evening that a larger area of rain arrives. For Ireland, this is concentrated mostly in the east as it moves into the UK.

Warnings for the heavy rain are in place as the slow-moving rain falls, with flooding also expected as saturated grounds struggle to absorb the deluge.

From Thursday evening, skies do clear, with only Scotland continuing to see heavier, widespread rainfall.
