Heavy rain and storms in Europe

WeatherRadar: The next few days will be very wet in Portugal and western Spain.

The west of the Iberian Peninsula is facing another storm: heavy rainfall is expected again in Portugal and western Spain in the coming days. It rained heavily there just last week.

Large parts of Portugal and regions in Spain from Galicia to western Andalusia are facing impacts from heavy rain and thunderstorms. Along the Galician and northern Portuguese coast in particular, over 200 mm of rainfall is possible in some areas until the weekend.

But even elsewhere, 100 mm of rain or more often fall within a few days. In particularly wet areas, there is a risk of flooding and landslides.

The Atlantic low pressure system responsible for the heavy rain is bringing Portugal and Spain not only heavy rain, but also windstorms, which are reaching hurricane strength in the mountains.
