Frost is behind us
It's now safe to garden

frosty kaleWaking up to your plants covered in frost should be over for the season.

If you have been holding off on your spring garden plans because of the threat of frost, worry no more!

Despite a generally wet end to the week, temperatures are now steadily rising, with the chance of overnight frosts at a minimal.

This weekend, for example, temperatures could drop to lows of 2 — 3°C locally in the south, but there is no risk of a frost arriving to kill off your freshly sown seeds and saplings.

There is a slight caveat, parts of the Scottish Highlands could still see frost, but this is true even in the summer months.

For the rest of us, away from these areas, it's time to get outdoors and pull the green finger out of hibernation.

While frosts may be behind us, other weather can still interfere with your plans, keep an eye on the WeatherRadar before heading out.
