Delivering wind and rain
Unusually strong low-pressure system

A powerful low-pressure system is now situated between the UK and Iceland, with a powerful vortex of winds.

While gusts are reaching highs of around 55 mph in Scotland, the system is bringing winds of 62 mph to Iceland, and occasionally hurricane-force levels.

This system is unusually strong for early June, and is moving slowly, meaning the strong winds and accompanying rainfall will persist throughout Tuesday.
