High pollen count today

Pollen is on the rise today, so make sure you stay a step ahead with the pollen feature on Weather & Radar.

If you're struggling with sore eyes and a sniffling nose today, ash, birch and oak in particular are high on the pollen count across some parts of the country.

You can find detailed information on which pollen is flying today and in the coming days with the pollen feature accessible on the home page.

Not only can you see if pollen is in the air but specifically which forms. Right now we see many types of tree pollen at high levels, with the peak of grass and weed pollen season still to come later in the year.

There are three defined periods of the pollen season. This is started by tree pollen as we see now with elevated levels of hazel and alder pollens. Historically this begins in March though levels were already high in February.

Following this we see levels of grass pollen rise from around May into July before weed pollens become dominant through until September.

Whichever form affects you most, we have you covered. Check out the pollen feature today to prepare accordingly for the current levels.
