Across UK and Ireland
Gusting winds prompt warnings

A day of gusting winds prompts low-level weather warnings across much of Ireland, and parts of the UK.

Gusts reach up to 45 mph (72 km/h) in Galway around midday, with gusts broadly reaching 30 - 45 mph across the UK, including up to 40 mph for Glasgow.

These conditions persist into the weekend, thanks to a low-pressure area which is moving through the countries, bringing plenty of rain with it too.
